Messier 46 - The Demise of a Star

An excellent photo I captured this morning of the Messier 46 open star cluster. This is one of my favorite open star clusters as it has a stark uniquity, one of the stars is dying and has entered the Planetary Nebula stage of its life and is visible as the blue ring on the top-side of the photo. I captured this photo at Frosty Drew Observatory in Charlestown, Rhode Island, USA.
